Impact frameworks and certifications are critical for transparency, accountability, and decision-making. Our portfolio companies work to scale impact across our investment themes: Sustainable Systems and Human Elevation. We engage companies to develop and track key impact performance indicators, align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and pursue B Corp certification in order to measure and manage the holistic social and environmental impacts each company creates.
Our commitment to managing and measuring impact enables us to be more successful investors and enhances our capacity to create value, and we remain committed to field-building efforts that promote increased transparency and reporting. We are proud to be a founding adopter of the Impact Performance Reporting Norms, developed by Impact Frontiers to establish shared expectations for the reporting of impact results by asset managers in private markets.
In 2024, The Builders Fund engaged BlueMark, the leading Impact verification provider, to independently assess the alignment of our Builders Fund II strategy with impact investing best practices. We received a Gold rating with “high” and “advanced” ratings across the four pillars assessed, performing better than the BlueMark averages in every pillar.
Our fund is deeply engaged with B Corp certification and tracking processes to amplify impact across our portfolio. We are proud to be a certified B Corp since 2015. The Fund was honored as one of the “Best for the World” B Corps in the Governance and Customers categories. To receive this honor, B Corps must achieve assessment scores in the top 5% of global Certified B Corporations.
Builders Fund was selected as one of the Impact Assets 50, an annual showcase of impact focused fund managers. The IA 50 is the first publicly available database that provides a gateway into the world of impact investing for donors and/or investors and their financial advisors, offering an easy way to identify experienced impact investment firms and explore the landscape of potential investment opportunities

The Builders Fund is proud to be a founding adopter of the Impact Performance Reporting Norms, developed by Impact Frontiers to establish shared expectations for the reporting of impact results by asset managers in private markets. The norms support fund managers in sharing private data with their capital providers under non-disclosure agreements and facilitate the sharing of positive, negative, and confidential information. We participated in the public consultation and cohort working groups to provide feedback and input to the norms, ultimately releasing our first IPRN-aligned report to our LPs in 2025. We partnered with our impact data platform Proof to implement the new norms and make them publicly available.
